Marita is the founder and Director of Robogals Inc. an international not-for-profit organisation spanning three countries with eleven chapters. This all started with training university students in robotics using LEGO NXT robots and then sent them to primary schools to teach girls. In the first three weeks, 80 university members had signed up and over 120 girls were taught in primary schools. Within the next ten months, UQ, UNSW, UA and UWA had partnered with Robogals. Since February 2009, the organisation has gone international with the formation of the London chapter and in April 2010, Robogals commenced 5 more chapters in the UK and Ireland. Marita believes that one of her strongest traits is her ability to dream big and connect the dots for achieving those big goals.
